What can I say, it's Microsoft. Microsoft Retail Management Systems is the Cadillac of POS programs and it has the price tag to match. The big advantage of this program is that Microsoft only charges per lane or POS station. The back office stations are free and unlimited. The cost here is $1200 per POS station and the installation set-up costs run $495 for the typical store. Data import costs vary from $295 to $495 based on what data is needed. Microsoft just released a variation of this product called Microsoft POS which runs about $800 per station. This is a good choice if you will never need multi-store operation.
